Thomas - and everyone else that may be interested...
The A2OC Newsletter forum section has been set up with restricted access. The only people that have access to this forum are myself and 5 or so others that are playing a part in the creation of the A2OC newsletter. This is to allow us to plan and exchange ideas about the newsletter whilst still keeping an element of secrecy until it actually is ready.
It's nothing personal! But it has proved to be very useful and if everyone was able to view it, it would defeat the purpose of us having a newsletter!
Regards,
Stuart.

Hi Stuart,
How about setting that forum only viewable by the members helping prepare the newsletter. Save this type of confusion. Only and idea?

Yep, so it doesn't appear in the list for all non-newsletter people.

It's just that my staff say that I'm getting further removedfrom the technical side of things now I'm a manager, but this old dog still has a few new tricks left in him yet!
And yes, I don't like being a driving instructor. I live in terror of finding dual controls in the passenger footwell!
BTW, it's 350 posts isn't it now and I'm now just an advanced driver, that's better.

Stuart,
Just to keep ade busy, I think you need to adjust the limits on a ramdon period. say for example, just before ade gets to the next limit. [}:)][}:)]:D:D

Poor Kaine-he works hard and for what reward-the carrot is always dangling in front of him but never reachable.
Terrible, it really is. Make him a Grand Prix winner and not a racing driver!.

Cheers Steve - Cant beat a good bit of sympathy.
Ade - do you actually do anything but read/post of the forum now? :):):)
My posts are suffering recently, as I have just started building a track car. This combined with work is making it almost impossible to get online most nights

I have a 'personal situation' at home which means that I have to spend my evenings 'on call' in case my toddler son wakes up. I'll not say more than that, but as I have a sound system hooked up to the PC and also have a Digital TV card in it I have all the entertainment I need. Plus it's only about 5 feet to the 'drinks fridge' in the kitchen :D
I have to spend a little time away from the forum now and again so that I can work on the A2OC newsletter don't forget...

Hi Steve,
I'm building a Striker (from Raw Engineering - formally made by Sylva). Has the pleasure of driving a friends car at a track day last year.
http://www.jk-audiovisual.co.uk/images/striker.jpg
I am basically building a replica of the car I drove last year. Fitting a race prepared 1.6CVH engine. Should see approx 145bhp, and hopefully will weigh under 500Kg.
Spending most of my time reconditioning donor parts at the moment, however this next week I am going to start panelling.
This is how it should look - finally (July/August)

We've often toyed with the idea of doing a kit of one form or another but at present our garage is en-block, not very near the house. Also no electricity at garage. Plans have been put on hold until we move.
We were looking into new Caterhams - very expensive for what they are tho'.

Hi Rob,
Your right about the price of Caterhams, however they are good quality compared to a lot else out there. The Striker is a good alternative. Firstly it is probably the best handling kit car on the market at the moment, a secondly it can be built for reasonable money. Comparing the price lists between the main companies (Caterham, Westfield, Dax, RawEngineering) you can see that the Striker is very competitive - I should complete my car for under 8k.

Very nice!
It's quite similar to what the engine looked like before I put it in my Westfield just over 10 years ago!!
