Hi All
I own an A2 tdi se with a pretty good spec. Was the Taunton Audi's demonstrator and i picked it up off the second owner (He paid £17655 for it). After 3 years and 30,000 miles of ownership, was tempted to sell and purchase a newer model. But with the spec, am loathe to get rid of it.
Anyway has anyone changed the shocks on their A2 TDi? And what can you recommend? Not looking to lower it, or fit coilovers just want advice on what make/model of shock absorbers to fit as it's starting to bounce.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
Pleased to hear that you're planning on keeping the A2 and that you have one with a decent spec.
Please do a search for the topic and be prepared to spend many hours reading the results as suspension upgrades are covered in very great depth on these pages.
Here;s a couple of threads to get you started:

Hi Stevec,
I'm still happy with my choice of Koni FSD damper, which I would recommend if the recent price increase does not put you off.
You mentioned ride height. I have standard springs and I would say that the car sits slightly higher off the ground now with the new dampers fitted.
John.
It's a common thing with Koni FSDs I think. I know a lot of guys on the TT forum have experienced increased ride height after fitting these.

Hi Guys
Sorry to all for late reply. Having problems with pc.
Koni's are a bit pricey but i know they're top quality.
Has anyone got any advice on these

Made by Jamex so should be ok.
Thanks

Well that set of Jamex coilovers is pretty much the opposite of what you intended: ;)

Your highly specced A2 sure would benefit from Koni FSD best, as long as the comfort factor is more important for you than a sporty "slammed" appearance:

To compensate for a potential hight increase by a maximum of about 10 mm due to the overpressured FSD dampers, just combine FSD with a set of Weitec 30/30 springs. They are good value for the money and proved to suit the A2 TDIs very well (with the right dampers).

Hi
Thanks for reply Schnelletrecker.
Didn't want to purchase or even look at coilovers (too fiddly, sieze etc). Just though i'd ask as the price is vastly different.
I have fitted Koni sport shocks to my previous car and was more than happy with the results. I have read the threads on the Koni FSD shocks and the ride height increase has prompted a spring change. This i did not expect, as i'm happy with the look of the car at the moment.
Koni's do seem the favourites though. Will have to start saving my pennies!
Thanks
Steve
