The 1.2TDi was never officially imported into the UK, so you'll have to get a LHD car from EUrope and do a personal import.

LHD = left hand drive
If you are from Germany, you should have little trouble in picking one up.

Sorry to hijack his one, but is it feasable to convert a lefthooker to RHD? Or are the wiring issues too much of a nightmare? I'm seriously thinking about importing a 1.2tdi and would use a scrapped RHD for as many donor parts as possible....

The job of conversion isn't impossible, but it'd be hugely difficult and expensive, as you'd need to change the bulkhead and a lot of the engine bay components to take controls over to the right of the car.
Also, bear in mind that there simply aren't many RHD components for the 1.2TDi (gearstick for example).
Cheers,
Mike

Ok, cheers Mike, I suspected it might be a no no. Will just have to wait for Audi to re-introduce a RHD 1.2tdi into the UK. I wish!!!

Hi Mike just to add to this, what about fitting a 1.2 TDI engine, what are the implications in doing that ?
Cheers Phil

Same deal really, you'll have to extend and re-route all sorts of pipes and cables to the other side.
It might be more feasible than a LHD to RHD swap, but it'd still be time consuming and pricey, best to just modify your driving style and fit narrower wheels and tyres with lower rolling resistance.
