I have my drivers window stuck down, i have purchased a new switch but that has not cured the problem,(the last time i purchased one it did cure the problem by the way, i am on my 3rd switch now) i have checked the switch and it is giving
.280kohms when fully depressed on the drivers side and .818kohms when down to the first position.this is across pins number 1 and 3 as denoted on the switch diagram. there are only 4 wires coming out of the switch and no2 out of the row is missing as it is manufactured.
i do not know where the comfort control unit is that interfaces with it. Is not as the local dealer said it is in the passenger footwell/bulkhead area and i have just stripped that out and not found it there. Also the window open and close feature does not work via the key now, so that is some sort of a clue. i dont think it is the actual window regulator motor as it seemed to go down fine and smooth. any ideas anyone. Audi UK are just trying to pass the buck to the local dealer and they are clueless or they just want £110 just to look at it. bad attitude, poor service.

disconnected the connectors on the motors an tried them again and it works now...

hope this helps someone in the future

As an aside at least its not as bad as the Citreon C5 I had which had a rain sensor. The set up was such that if you were driving along with open windows and it started raining they would close automatically. Except one day when it was absolutely persisting it down and I had to drive 200 miles it went into reverse mode and opened all the windows when i started the engine.......long story short I got rid of the car soon after.

I am having this same problem as we speak, but my window is stuck up. It won't go down. Haven't tried the key switch yet, but will do that now.
This is my 5th problem with my little A2, but I won't give up on it. Thanks.

update: tried the key switch, doesn't work.

strip off the door card and unplug all the electrical connectors underneath the door card the door a few times, it sorted it for me

I took off the door panel, unplugged first 3/4 connectors(counting from left to right), the last one was too big, I couldn't take it off. This sort of fixed the window.. It opens/closes, but only the first level of the switch works. It doesn't auto open/close if I press it all the way(to level 2). But I guess this will do for now, as I am leaving on vacation to the seaside on Saturday.
Ah, the key window open/close feature doesn't work either.
Paid 4 pounds for the screwdriver! Bleh!

Hi, may be able to help.
I had the same problem on my A2 about 4 years ago, but on the rear passenger door. I plugged my Werth Snooper on it & it indicated no communication with the rear door, and a 'NULL' error code. Could not clear the issue as it was 'NULL'. Lots of head scratching later I decided to disconnect the battery for 10 mins, reconnect & hey presto, window was working fine again. It has never caused me a problem again. Try it, it is free & will only take 10 mins. Make sure you have your radio code to hand!

Good news. I let "Udi" sleep on it, seems fine now. Works in all ways, lol. This car has got some willpower :D. Thanks for the help guys.

of course during the thunder today i wound my window down to ask if somei=one was leaving the parking space and went to wind it up again and IT STUCK DOWN AGAIN!
so being prepared i had 2 tools on board ready:
25 torqx screwdriver and snap on door pry tool.
so i undid the two screws in the door rest and pulled the bottom of the door off which revealed the wiring (no need to take the card right off, just flap it open)
on a right hand drive car pick the most rearward connector (with the purple part to the connector block) and unplug it and replug it.
the window now works again.
so why is this? is it:
A) a dodgy connector at this actual junction that is remade by just scraping the corrosion off when plugging and unplugging. I have checked this and it doesnt look bad or corroded in any way.
B) a sticky relay inside the actual box that this connector plugs into which is de energised when the feed is cut by disconnecting the plug and somehow allows it to reset when it is plugged back in.
C) some other problem that i am not clever enough to fathom out as i dont know enough about multiplexing and the like. ( i do know that the switch send the control box a certain resistance to trigger it.)

my ex wife keeps getting the A2 cleaned at this garage and every single time it gets cleaned the windows get stuck... something to do with the humidity that gets in the car when they clean it... after it dries out windows work fine...

maybe you have too much moister in car?

Its not moisture as i checked it was dry when i had the door card off.
It did it again last week so rather than take the door card off i opened the boot and disconnected the battery and...
it worked !
It was fine for a quick fix but we are not really understanding the problem or actually fixing it permanently. so does anyone have that cluster of boxes from inside the drivers door for sale?

I'm having a problem with my window too! I can see what the issue is though. Mine gets stuck half wat up, half way down and sometimes will go up an down over and over again until it finally closes. It is pulling in the outside seal when it goes down, it gets folded in and this seems to affect the sensors. It's driving me crazy!
