I'm trying to fix an intermittent fuel relay problem. I'd like to do all sorts of things temporarily, but a permanent fix would seem to be to solder the wires on to the relay (condensation / humidity problems in the garage) - but how the hell do I get the contacts out? Ideas gratefully received!

Hi Bret
Hope I'm wrong but I can't think of any of our club members who could help with this

Cheers Spike

I posted this elsewhere and the consensus was that I need a special tool - so I'm going to ask the dealer to do it. I'll then get some gold plated connectors and ask them to put those on instead.

thanks

Same question in the german forum;)
Am Sockel sind doch alle Kontakte auf die Platine gelötet oder nicht? Wüsste nicht, wie du da einen Pin entfernen kannst außer mit Auslöten.

Hi Bret
Thought you wanted to solder wires inside the relay but if the problem is removing the wires from a connector block then Laser Tools sell terminal extractors which may do the job. They have a kit with several sizes and a single tool - the problem is knowing which size is required
