View Full Version : Driving in convoy to the social?

[?] Stuart: it sounds to me as if there will be no chance to drive in convoy to or at this social of ours? Or am I missing something?
I saw four Rolls Royces the other morning driving in convoy and it really made me itch to do the same... also seeing the pictures from the previous social...

I haven't ruled that out yet as it depends how long people want to spend looking around the centre in the afternoon.
But as you suggest, it's a good opportunity to drive there in convoy, so by all means arrange this for yourself.
I'm coming up from London so if anyone wants to meet on or near the M40, let me know!

From the north, I'll probably be going M69, A46 then M40, unless anyone has another route. Anyone for a convoy?

Lets say then that Jct 8 M40 services is the meeting point from the south...

From the north, it looks like there is a services between Jct 13 and Jct 12, labelled as Warwick Southbound.
Meeting point from the North then?
Is there anyone apart from me coming from the North?

J 8 on the M40 is a real biggy. We normally park at the top end where caravans etc. park. Top end is not too ambiguous because the whole thing is on a slope. Most people park as close to the doors of the facilities as it is possible to get so it tends to be SLIGHTLY less crowded at the top.

Stuart: I just realised that the event is on a Sunday! For some reason I expected a Saturday... so my plan of going up and staying with a friend near Birmingham after a long tiring day (I hope!) is not going to work! And having to work on Monday getting up very early on Sunday is also a bit difficult... So I think we'll go and stay with her on Saturday evening anyway and meet at the event...
BUT that scuppers plans for a convoy! :(
So any chance of a convoy back to London (as well)? What are people's plans after the event? What time does the place close? Is this viable? When would most people want to be back home?

Don't forget us Corolla drivers from the East.
No, seriously I will probably make it a day trip with no stay overs so want to get there and back in a reasonable time. If I convoy with you A2 owners it will only hold me up.......
