Saw this wheel/tyre combo on ebay and they look pretty tempting at the price. Never heard of Achilles Tyres though, are they useless?

That's quite a coincidence. I was looking at buying these about 10 minutes ago, then I come on here and find a link to them ^^
No worrys, first of all I don't have my paycheck to buy them, and secondly they have "Quantity: 2"
I saw the wheels and that also put me off a bit, I can't imagine them being bad tyres, however the price seems pretty cheap for new RS4 Reps + new tyres.

Lots of A2 drivers have these wheels. But thay are not original Audo and the Offset is 38mm I am sure, not 33. But they fit.

Any ideas on the tyres? The RS4 Replicas are fine for me ^^
I have done some research and found a few other forums talking about these tyres. Very mixed opinions it seems. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyres-brakes-13/551793-my-tyres-crap-i-think-they-probably.html?showfull=1
From this I take the fact that they are budget tyres made in Indonesia, designed for the North American market, and although many people claim they are dangerous it is not necessarily true, as I cannot imagine a tyre manufacturer producing tyres that are budget but purposely dangerous.
Although I could be completely wrong and these tyres could be "dreadfull if not dangerous in the wet", as some people are saying.

I bought this exact wheel tyre combo about 2 months ago and have no problems with the tyres in the wet, i would recommend them

I'm a bit miffed as I just bought 4 new Pirelli P6000's for my old (slightly scuffed) 16" alloys last week for not a huge amount cheaper than this wheel/tyre combo. If it wasn't for that I'd probably take a punt on them as I've been after a set of these style of wheels for a while... :(

I'm not sure I'd go for a tyre called Achilles personally- in Greek Mythology, Achilles had a fatal weak spot, wouldn't want my tyres to be my car's fatal weak spot!

:) Was thinking that myself! It doesn't exactly inspire confidence...

Exactly!
I think if I were inventing tyre brand names, I'd want a tyre to be called "Limpet", or "Gekofeet" or something ;)

Put me down for a full set of Limpet/Gekofeet :D

Anyone ever heard of 'Kenda' tyres? Every day I seem to come across a new make of tyre that I've never heard of before. I know they're cheapies but is there any horror stories about them?
I found a site that seemed to suggest the Pirelli P6000's were rubbish and were more commonly known as 'the ditch finders', so to be honest I'm not sure what to believe now...!!

I've never liked any Pirelli tyre to be honest, but certainly never heard of Kenda either!
