Hi there - before I list this item on e bay I thought I would give club members an opportunity to buy my unused lowering kit for the petrol 1.4 a2 . Made by Eibach (top quality manufacturer - these are no longer available from Eibach and lower the car by 20mm front and back . If you check previous threads on this site you will find that they give the softest ride of all the sports springs (which I think is a bonus with the stiffness of the standard setup) - I am selling item due to purchase of koni springs and dampers setup so am listing these to recover my costs.

I live in S.Wales and item can be collected or buyer pays for postage costs

Asking - £65 plus postage - estimated (£15 - these are heavy) - very expensive when new

If interested please send me p.m and I will get back to you (new to posting messages on this forum so be patient)

These are for petrol models only - see eibach website for details - you can find in previous thread - search for eibach on this site and you can look up all the details - site www.eibach.de

All the best - scimmyowner

Are these suitable for the Diesel cars as well, or just petrol? What shocks/dampers do they need to be used with?

petrol and diesel have different axle weights, so i'd expect differing spring rates, too.

More info on the Eibach Pro-Kit springs. For anyone with a petrol A2 and just looking for springs a fraction lower than standard, these are probably the best available

Select European...., Audi and A2 from the drop down boxes to accesss the catalogue page

I am naturally interested, but I have just bought the weitec springs from david ;-)

What I'm interested to know is the comparison of the Eibach to Weitec in terms of ride comfort (on 16" SE wheel, FSD, 195/50 T1-Rs). And being greedy, any differences on the performance side? After being in mtyA2's car, FSD+weitec has acceptable ride too, but if the Eibach has similar performance in the corners but better ride, I would love to consider that ;-) time for the suspension expert, Schnelletrecker?

Well in this special case (1.4 petrol) I would definately go for the EIBACH springs.

The reason is mainly based on the differentiation of the front axle load between the 1.4 petrol and the 1.4 TDIs and FSI, that the Eibach springs do characterise.

On the other hand the identical WEITEC 30/30 or 30/00 spring set is offered for the 1.4 petrol, all 1.4 TDIs and the FSI - regardless of the different front loads involved. :mad:

That means that potentially a 1.4 petrol WEITEC equipped A2 won’t achive even 20 mm of lowering at the front. Moreover the ride comfort decreases with decreasing load. For that the Weitec 1.4 petrol A2 is harsher to ride than a Weitec 1.4 Diesel. At least two German 1.4 petrol drivers had complaints in the past due to insufficient lowering effect with the Weitecs (same applies to the ABT springs for the 1.4 if combined with Koni FSD). The 1.4 petrol in general seems to be “difficult“ to lower with sport springs – a set of coilovers seems to be a must for the 1.4 petrol owners to obtain more than minus 30 mm.

So for all 1.4 TDIs and the FSIs the WEITECS still remain the first option for lowering by sport springs, especially with Koni FSD.

In terms of cornering performance both the WEITECS and the EIBACHS should be similarly rated.

@humps

Please measure the vertical distance between the wheel center and the bottom edge of each fender. It’ll be interesting to know the amount of lowering of the Eibachs in combination with Koni FSD in a 1.4 petrol.
