I currently have 205/40 ZR 17 on my A2 at the moment. As I have no spare and we all know how useless that gunk is, I have come across the tyre:

125/70/r16 tubeless.

Would it be safe to use on my current setup.

Hi keez
When fully inflated the 125/17/16 tyre is about 15mm larger in diameter than your current wheels. This could cause a couple of problems. First, Its not good practice to fit different size wheels on the front axle as it makes the diferential work overtime. If you get a front puncture then a back wheel should be put on the front and the spare used on the back. Another watchout is if the tyre does not fold down for storage (like the std A2 spacesaver when deflated) then check to make sure there is enough space so it can lie flat on the boot floor.
Bearing in mind the above, assuming the wheel has the correct stud pattern then it should be ok as a spare.
Personally I would prefer to look out for a standard A2 wheel to use as a spare rather than use some oddball spacesaver.
