Found this vid on you tube and heres how you put up a tent in 30 seconds and it takes no room up in your boot so it would be ideal for an A2 Owner LOL !!!!
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EBy3I50-_AE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EBy3I50-_AE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Small point; ladder wouldn't reach the ground from an A2 !

I was looking at that tent. Does any one know if it can be used with the A2

I wouldn't recommend it Richard - the roof loading for the A2 is 50kg and although I've had 80kg up there, it was evenly loaded (MDF board) and slim as you are, you must weigh more than this, especially if you are coming 2-up this time!

Cheers,

Mike

It's fine. There are a couple in the german forum. The statement was along the lines of "the 50kg is a dynamic load (i.e. moving) and stationary, the load is not an issue". That was direct from the manufacturer.

But I was also reading it was 250kg on that site. I found audi a2 roof bars on ebay but they say that they are only for a2's without the sunroof? are there two different versions?

bretti are there any pictures of one fitted to the a2 closed box and with it open setup?

open sky means officially here no roof bars possible.
I would be very, very careful about applying weight to an OSS A2.

Sorry, that changes everything IMO; I simply wouldn't do it.

How about this Richard - made for BMW, but I'm sure the A2 will fit a treat:
