Has anyone else experienced an annoying high pitched whine with overlaid lower frequency buzz related to engine revs (possibly fuel pump?) on any part of their speaker system, with the radio off (of course).
Strange, it has only started very recently.

Further tests have indicated a connection with the throttle. With ignition on and engine off, depressing the throttle causes noise pick-up on the speaker cable. Suspect a faulty earth/screen connection. I wonder what the dealer's mechanic will make of it, as this will be another warranty fault.

I used to have one of those noises on my first car - a SEAT Marbella!! I solved it by fitting a solenoid on the power input to the stereo. I'm sure the A2 is far more advanced than needing something like and that but if I were you I'd definitely get it sorted under warranty by a dealer.

Are you coming to the club social (http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/meet1.htm)?

This can easily happen if one of the speaker cables is kind of broken if the dealer replaces the cable to the speaker your problem will probaly be solved[25]

Dealer replaced the speaker amplifier.
This appears to cure the fault.
But doesn't stop the alarm from going off, when least expected
This friday due to have the alarm sounder unit replaced as well.
The man from Audi roadside assistance came and did a diagnostic with his laptop computer. Amazed to see a history log of faults that the car remembers. Now one of those gizmo's would be useful.
Oh, and the dealers replaced the boot numberplate light covers as well
Full marks to Parklands Audi for helpfulness.
Poor marks to Audi for having the faults in the first place

I get a strange whine & bubble from o/s rear door speaker also.

Have traced this to interference from 12v mobile phone charger - didn't go hands-free in the TDI as didn't want to wreck dashboard.

Solution - charge phone before travel and use a 'britney spears' type hands-free..!
