Hi chaps,

i've just had my A2 1.6 FSI broke down on Saturday there was alot of steam coming from the bonnet

Ive only had it a month and a bit.

When i checked there was mainly water to the right side of the car and underneath the car i can something a bit water gripping.

When doing a visual check the coolant tank was near empty. I have topped up and after a while the some water would be leaking out, When i had recovery Assistant i explained the problem they were looking inside and pointed out a burst pipe. a plastic Coolant Pipe It looks like a Y connection pipe.

The car starts but the Coolant temperture warning beeps i have had it towed to the audi garage should be getting a phone call within the next 48 hours to let me know whats wrong with the car.

I am just hoping it is just the pipe replacement and no other damage, due to christmas funds are a bit tight.

The pipe is more less right in front of you and a little bit to your right its its not any pipes sort in at the top.

Sorry not pictures it was dark.

any suggestions or if more damage would be done.

As long as you didn't drive it without coolant you should be fine. A split hose is a relatively cheap fix.

Mine done this if it's the 3 way plastic pipe that goes to the coolant bottle it's a cheap fix you can buy just the plastic y piece it's about £5 no more than that, and easy to change apart from the broken part that's snapped off in the pipe! That's a bit tricky to get out but other than that really cheap to do but probably not now you've taken it to Audi :( it's a 10 minute job max

I had few coolant pipes leaking and I have done them all myself.
Not too difficulat, though you definately need few tools. Not just a screwdriver.
If you PM me, I will give you contact to someone who could fix this for you for much less $ ( in reading/ calcot )

oh you have it fixed already, sorry :p
anyway if you need something in future you know who to contact
