Plastic vacuum tube on the 1.4 petrol AUA EGR ???

Hi,

I have a thin black plastic vacuum tube that goes from the EGR valve to --- NOWHERE !!

It is similar to the old vacuum advance tube on a distributor,

I am assuming that this is OK but could anyone with a 1.4 petrol AUA engine please check theirs to see if theirs is connected to anything when they get chance?

It just looks like it could be connected to something, the shape is quite unique and leaving it open to the elements just seems wrong.

Perhaps there is a piece of mesh missing from mine?

There is a definite vacuum there?

I have searched for engine diagrams and so far, no luck.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

It looks like the "Air Filter" may be missing on yours - Item No.14 (see attached PDF)
Cost is around £3.50 :)

Hi,

Thanks for that.

That is a shame really, I am still trying to determine what is causing a lumpy running at 1200 to 1500 revs when the engine is not yet up to temperature.

A missing air filter is not going to be the cause and it is not blocked due to the filter being missing.

Back to the drawing board.
