Newbie looking for an A2

I've just joined up as I'm looking for a cheap A2 to downsize from our 118D as my Wife's mileage is about to reduce from over 650 miles a week to under 150 miles.

We're not too picky about what we get as the main aim is to save some money, something like the one Birchall sold recently would be ideal.

Downsizing might not be the most accurate term where an A2 is concerned! TARDIS is closer to the mark...

Over the past few months a few nice examples have surfaced in the South West, so keep your eyes peeled.

eBay classifieds and Gumtree are two useful resources, also Preloved. It might take a while, but the wait is worth it.

I bought an A2 1.6 FSI nearly 2 weeks ago but I haven't seen it yet as I used Shiply to collect it from the seller in York and deliver to my prefered garage (a Porsche specialist) in Grimethorpe to ensure it's fully serviced and in good health. Anyone reading this may be thinking that's a long way from Devon! Well it is but I recently relocated from West Yorkshire. I have family from Yorkshire staying with me this week and I will be getting a lift back up with them next week to collect the A2 and drive it down.

They are fantastic cars which really get under your skin. Our car had its 10th birthday last week. Still looking really good - wish I was ageing so gracefully!

I've wanted one before as a second car having liked them since launch but my Wife was never keen on the looks but she has finally come around. We've had a few Audi's and other VAG cars before including an aluminium one (S8) but I do think the A2's are quite special and were well ahead of their time.

Our A2 passed it's MOT yesterday with no advisories and I'm now looking forward to collecting it on Tuesday.

I picked the A2 up this morning and I really like it, it has the interior space and refinement of a larger car. It handled the 250 mile drive home no problem and returned an indicated 50mpg.

It needed a really good clean inside and out which I had a good go out once a got home but it needs a bit more yet.

There a couple of small things I need to order like a mat clip and 3 jacking point covers. I also intend to get cruise control installed.
