Had the A2 for over a year now and still going strong but some help and advise please to try and get to the bottom of a fault.
Its had the wee problem since I got it; indeed it showed its face before I bought the car but was pretty minor.
Car has now done 128000 miles and still runs great and averages about 47mpg. Emissions are fine at MOT time too.
Only issue is when you leave the car ticking over when she is warm, the EML comes on after about 20 seconds and car starts running rough. Have a cheap code reader/resetting tool in the glove box - fault always P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire. Press the reset when running and car instantly runs smooth again. Get round the fault appearing by blipping the throttle when standing in traffic and fault stays away. Got vcds and scan says the same - misfire cylinder 2.
Have ran the car on Super Unleaded since I got it, had new NGK plugs, leads, recent coil pack etc and have put some cleaners through the petrol. Guy that had the car before me put it into the dealers (main Audi) and they said it was No 2 injector. Changed it for him, reset everything and charged him £530. Fault still came back so he decided to sell.
Just had timing belt/water pump, ABS harness and sensor done in a local garage and they had a go at the fault in their spare time (no charge as they did it between jobs) as it became a challenge for them too. But alas couldn't get to the bottom of it. They swapped out injectors/plugs etc, looked at the earth points (plus fitted a new earth lead between the engine and body)
