Open sky roof only opening one side

I have read many pages regrading the roof problems but have not managed to find any technical details of how they work or how to actually fix them.

So I would like to ask if anyone has any idea what could be causing this problem as it seems to be different from the problems listed where the roof doesn't close?

The front panel opens upwards then tries to slide back but only one side moves and it then jams

Suspect that since Audi just replace the 'cassette' when the roof fails there are very few spares or related repair procedures available.

I tried lubricating my other A2 and had the mechanism jam open today! ��
I could hear the gear jumping over the cable inside
Just managed to force it back closed with a run up, phew
I am just going to put tape over the roofs button now and leave them shut, too much hassle!

My recommendation David would be to call A2 Cars in Milton Keynes. They've developed a deep knowledge of the OSS system and can even go as far as referring / replacing broken ones should you wish. They can also do a full roof service.

I've no connection other than they helped me big time when mine stuck open! You're not too far away.

Presumably I would have to drop the whole headlining to change the motor and cables?
