Good to have an older car that can't be hacked

BBC News story "Car hack uses digital-radio broadcasts to seize control" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-33622298

Not the first story of hacking car's management system but this one has a bit more ingenuity and wider consequences. Beats me why there cannot be 2 separate networks in a car: one for infotainment and non critical and the other for engine management, brakes and other critical systems.

It can be good to have an older car like the A2 that can't be hacked :)

In some ways it is a shame that this hack has been publisised and blocked.

Imagine how safe our roads would be if the police could just remotely apply the brakes on a joy riders / stolen car.

No need for dangerous high speed chases and road blocks.

I think it would be worth exploring the option to do this if only police cars carried the equipment.

yet another recall re potential remote hacking of vehicles via entertainment system:
Fiat Chrysler recalls 1.4 million cars after Jeep hack http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-33650491

Wont belong before this gets beyond proof of concept. Worst case would be a payload that stays inactive while 1,000s of vehicles are infected and then on a certain date and time they activate bring mayhem to the roads.
