Apart from going to Audi Direct - anyone used a online service for under £10 to retrieve their code ?

If so any links please?

Audi want me to book in and charge me labour despite what the handbook says regards it's being a free service

Sorry Andy - i don,t know of any links but if its Newcastle Audi are wanting to charge then they are being very naughty !. I personally have been to Wakefield Audi and they have done it for free and so have other members at their local dealers. Is there another dealership quite near that you could try ?.

The car ive just bought hasn't got the radio code (radio is fully working) is it just a case of me supplying the radio serial number to the link in post 6 and hay presto they will supply me with the code?

If you click on the link above you will see the following text

Just send me the serial number (AUZ*Z......... , usually, it is a 14 digits number for example, AUZ1Z2K1234567, AUZ2Z2C1234567,AUZ5Z3B1234567,AUZBZ7G1234567, ...)and then I can get a code for you.

Yes, I agree, I thought it would be much more difficult to get a code, cheap too!!

Make an offer though as you will get it cheaper.

Just an update for those requiring a radio code. The link given by Manhatten is no longer available as the account has been suspended!

I used an altenative:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-Rad...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

£6 which worked a treat, so if people are cautious as to which ones might be a rip off I know this one worked for me.
Got the code overnight, now have an OEM concert 2 (from a TT) working well, also an ebay purchase for £28 with very little wear on the buttons.

Code through within 24hrs and works fine.

Only minor issue is that the radio doesn't turn on/off with the ignition and stays on if you shut off the car and pull the key.

As the A2 is X-plate, so early, is this an issue with the radio being a CAN-bus unit and the car is non-CAN-bus?

You are 100% correct, the early A2 is none canbus for the radio and you can't fit an canbus radio to a none canbus car (as you have found out)
There is a canbus adaptor that you can buy and wire in

Cheers,

Arguably I *can* fit it - it fits and it works.... it just needs turning on and off manually!

Got a link to the CAN-bus adaptor, please?

Why not try eBay with a search string of something like 'Audi Canbus SImulator'. I found one in seconds, not cheap, but you will have to search yourself as I cannot make a direct link work properly.
