VW plans huge investment to become electric cars leader

Volkswagen plans to launch 30 all-electric models to reposition itself as a leader in "green" transport. ..... VW hopes that by 2025, all-electric cars would account for about 20-25% of the German carmaker's annual sales.

Volkswagen (VW) shares fell as much as 4.3 percent after the announcement

The company also said it would build a services business encompassing areas such as ride-hailing and car-sharing that it expects to generate billions of euros in sales by 2025, as well as hiring another 1,000 software engineers to help develop its own autonomous driving and battery technologies.

To be expected as Germany has announced they will ban new combustion engine passenger car registrations starting 2030.
 
Do they realise that means hybrids are also banned too?! However I simply don't see it happening, consumers are simply not buying into EV's - most sales are to business who get 100% tax benefit.

Consumers will buy into EV's very quickly, as soon as they become cheaper to buy and run than non EV's and Governments can introduce legislation to ensure this is the case with little or no problems
