    Simon.
Im contiplating this at the moment but i was already over the max torque output , although this is my personal prefrence as some 30kgs lighter its just how long would it last

modifying flywheels is scary stuff! yh for sure as its got to be right , or theres still the DMF to consider but thats even more weight and i find the engines balance perfect with the standard 75hp flywheel and the chatter does not faze me

Some other useful info ive found on the forum and other sites with all the gear ratios for my various options

    1.4 TDI 75hp

    Gear ratio in 1st gear / 2nd gear 3.78 / 2.12
    Gear ratio in 3rd gear / 4th gear 1.36 / 0.97

    2.12
    1.36
    0.97

Theres also the standard box converted to 6 speed
There is, for the A2 TDI, a choice of two possible 6th gear ratios, namely 0.65 and 0.588.

It looks like these would be the numbers for the ERF's and FMH's.

    2500rpm--87.28mph
    2000rpm--69.83mph
    1500rpm--52.37mph
    1000rpm--34.91mph

That's less than one mph difference from the DRW.

    For the DRW

Here is the speed in gear chart for 5th + 6th all speeds are mph
    RPM 5TH 6TH
    5500 161.14 193.93
    5000 146.49 176.30
    4500 131.84 158.67
    4000 117.19 141.04
    3500 102.54 123.41
    3000 87.89 105.78
    2500 73.25 88.15
    2000 58.60 70.52
    1500 43.95 52.89
    1000 29.30 35.26

    Well spotted
I've read that document many times but never picked up on the use of counter-weights being added to the flywheel and vibration damper due to lack of space on the crankshaft

    Cheers Spike
