Tdi 90 Throttle Actuator Turbo EGR control circuit

2004 Tdi 90 150,000 miles. Drove to London last night, first long journey in a while. Mix of stop/start in roadworks and 70 mph cruising. Parked up and starting the car again after a couple of hours noticed that it didn’t start first time, which is unusual as it always starts well. Started second time but yellow engine warning light came on. Ran OK through traffic but on motorway was much less perky than usual especially overtaking up inclines.

Started car this morning and still slow to start. Put the fault code reader on it, noted then cleared four codes and started again. Got the same result, vis:

P2100 Throttle actuator Control Motor circuit/open
P2102 Throttle Actuator control motor circuit low
P0243 Turbo waste gate solenoid A malfunction
P0489 EGR control circuit low

There’s nothing noisy, or smelly under the bonnet so turbo hopefully OK, might just be a fault in the throttle system giving rise to the feeling that the turbo isn’t kicking in.

Any thoughts very welcome, thank you.

Perhaps try scanning it with VCDS. The Tdi 90 doesn't have a waste gate!
