Guys i thought id share this on here for anyone interested in enquiring about a LEASE deal for the BMW i3.

I researched the MARKET - ALOT, and have contacts at my local BMW dealership, however when i did go ahead via BMW, it turns out the car is actually purchased by the lease company thru BMW anyway.

After id narrowed down my spec and taken a 2 day test drive with REX version of the I3 from the dealership, i was given a acceptable price via BMW with this company but in the end managed to save a few £££ (£10 per month) by then narrowing my spec further with Vicki from Drive Electric.

Id hight recommend any one interested in a I3 to have a chat with her, shes personable and knowledgeable about ALL electric cars and owns one herself.

She's avialable on the contact details below.

mention your reffered from the Audi A2 forum for the best deals (iv told her to hopefully expect a few enquiries.

Any info you need on the i3 specifically - check this out VERY USEFUL and informative http://www.i3guide.com/index.php

I think that what most A2OC members would be interested in is exactly how much IS the lease, per Month, and based on what projected Annual mileage?

David

I agree with David suggests although its a personal matter what people spend.

I use my A2 to do 80 miles a day and never even considered electric as the unit cost of them is high. That said, I would potentially consider a finance / lease package seeing as we are now getting comparisons between what people are outlying for fuel versus electric although very hard to do the depreciation costs yet as not many used cars about and government grants fudging costs.

My immediate suspicions are that my A2 will not go down in value significantly to what I paid and it costs me (I self maintain) which means that it still is more financially affordable than these.

its changing all the time and varies ALOT down to the spec you want and the projected residual value of your specced car after the lease is up, which is changing all the time.

im paying £360 a month for 2 years - with a £2k deposit but my car has some expensive options in terms of poor residual value (ofr example a SUNROOF) is costing me £12 a month!!! lol

also tbh, my main motivation isnt my YEARLY motoring cost (fuel, depreciation, tax, insurance) as much as wanting what i want

i believe the base spec i3 can be had from around £1500 deposit and £275 a month

Yes, but whatevr you do, don't get a lease from your local BMW dealer without checking finance details beforehand or you will be in for a shock.

I offered to pay a LOT up front to reduce the credit hit and the figures I was quoted (for a well specced i3 REX) was

£190 per month (which was ok unless you consider that I was prepared to put £10,000 as a deposit!!!!!

I had explained that I wanted to hand the car back at 24 months, but this quote was skewed because it was a purchase deal and not a straight 2 year lease.

But whichever way you look at it the cost to me to have the car for 24 months was in the region of £15,000 !!!

So make sure you get the right lease and shop around.

I eventually found a deal on a well specced i3 for £3600 deposit and £around £280 per month (higher cost due to the spec, but a lot less that the dealer!)

Better deals can definitely be found.

Absolutely Steve, like i said mine was £365 but the options added on ALOT, which was my choice. DRIVE ELECTRIC seem to offer some grear deals but No1 Advice would surely be shop around for peace of mind before committing

That sounds a good deal! I have ordered the same model in fluid black plus sunroof. (I'll miss the OpenSky system on my A2 when I come to sell it).
I have finally bitten the bullet on buying an EV, now that the range is well over the 120 mark (probably 210 plus with the range extender) I wish Audi had followed through on the superlative design and features of the A2 - but also not to be.
Its worth looking out at BMW dealerships as I managed to get £1950 off my personal contract deal when I ordered mine in July.

My lease arrangement is over 2 years with a hefty £8k deposit and £250 per month based on 10000 miles pa. I managed to get £1950 off the purchase price over a summer "Electric Week" promotion. Option to buy at the end of 2 years at a price of £16k.

I found the BNW dealer Lease to be very expensive. As I said £10,000 down and £200 per month for two years. Total of nearly £15,000
i arranged a straight two year lease with a leading company for £3,600 down and £290 a month (it was a well specced car and with 15K a year mileage and so understandably at the top end) but the difference is around £5.000 less than the dealer quote. So it is well worth shopping around.
