IPad HVAC control

I want to investigate controlling the HVAC with an IPad
Does anyone have a spare climate control switch pack that they would be willing to donate to this project

I plan on hard wiring the switches and controlling via Bluetooth raspberry pi and an app, somehow getting the display info out somehow

Might come to nothing but project for the winter

Starting point is the switch pack to do some experimenting image.jpeg

When you say "Switch pack" Do you mean this (under the RNS E)?

Is condition important? I have one of these (no heated seat switches) but the fascia and buttons are worn.

Yes that bit
Condition doesn't matter it will be stripped down to see if it can be hijacked :D
Will pm you my address if you are willing to let it go for the cause

Happy to help with anyone looking at new ideas and mods for the A2.

I will sort it this weekend and get it off to you.

Those air vents do most of the cooling in summer.

Hard wiring will also not help with the temperature sensor.

yes i have began to realise lots of problems.
just good to do a mock up to inspire hours of thinking and rethinking

1st thoughts is that it looks the way i want it
2nd thoughts huge job and need help
3rd thoughts how can i get a full TFT speedo as well:)

inspired by guy martins tv show 'speed' pedal powered one man hydro foil - even if the end result is not what you started out aiming for its worth trying

i also want a full electric A2 conversion - maybe a written off i3 as that carbon fibre can't be cheap to repair, not good after a fire either

best get back to the shed :)

Nice I like it , you could always divirt the top air vents upwards through the top of the dash and use something like the round ones from an Audi TT , quattro ones even have a nice chrome surround or find something that fits inside that recessed groved area in the top of the dash above the vents ;)

we are on the same wave length, how about these electric pop up ones on the F type,
always wanted to use that strange panel on the top for something
thanks for the encouragement

havc fits in ashtray location so don't need crazy raspberry pi - although would be nice
vents up top will work too
standard head unit will be behind iPad

Top vent mocked up
Arduino on order, cupholder and phone dock to be figured out
Man this job has escalated
Glad it's just a mock up, might be too much of a compromise
