AUA crank position/speed sensor

Hi everyone,

I'm assembling my sons AUA engine, and need some help on exact position of toothed ring that goes on the crank so sensor can do its job.

It was taken of on dismantling, I wanted to check the condition of crank and big end bearings.

As always, any help/comment will be greatly appreciated.

There is a youtube clip covering rear crank seal replacement on a Golf TDi and while the special tool may be different, the procedure could be similar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo6wpKdBoUE

The second PDF is not specific to the AUA engine but gives more detail of the rear crank seal and sensor ring assembly

Did you find out how to align this ring ?? I'm having the sameproblem

Yes I did. You need a special tool and here in Cyprus very few garages have it, so it will go to a garage next week to have it fitted using that tool. Will keep you posted.
