A1 TTS style alloys, will they fit okay?

Just getting winter tyres fitted to the 16" SE alloys and want to keep them again for next winter, so will buy a replacement set of 17" wheels and tyres for the summer. Looking out for any bargains to snap up, but wonder if these will fit if I come across some stuff right price, or one of several other A1 styles all of which. Seem to be the same size.

They are 17x7.5j et 35. If I get some without tyres I was going to fit 205/40 17, but if they come with tyres the standard fitment seems to be 215/40.

So any idea if they will fit okay and is 215/40 pushing it too much, have read the wheel fitment guide but not seen anything relating exactly to these size wheels.

They should fit without any issues. I'm running 215/35/18 with et35 wheels and lowered by 30mm and only occasionally get scrubbing over some potholes.

I also run 215/40/17 on these TT rims et35 I think, same as Steve, occasional rubbing of inner arch over potholes or loaded with four passengers, if you are running it mainly with 1-2 people you'll be fine, if more people more regularly I'd stick to 205/40/17
Cheers Jeff

Its worth noting that Jeff also has lowered suspension and this may eb the only reason for the rubbing on the arches.

I like those TT wheels as well - guess they are more like the SE wheels just a bit bigger - so many choices

Just bought these, look to be pretty perfect condition and a very reasonable £200. Might not bother getting the SE wheels fitted with winter tyres now, as we have our C-Max suitably booted so will use that if weather gets poor.

Hi,

For reference, it's worth mentioning that the A1 has wheels with a 5x100 PCD as the A2 does, although the MK2 TT has a 5x112 PCD. As such, wheels originally from an 8J TT will not fit the A2 without adapters. :)

Regards,

Matt.

Im on the same TT rims. Last summer i cut the rear inner fender ,and the rubs go away. Even with 4 people and some junk in the back.

Have you considered replica's? I think SteveB posted that he bought a new set with tyres for £400.
.

The 18" rotor replicas were around £400 but that was wheels only.

You should be able to get some new ones at around £500 including tyres, especially if you go for 17" ones.

I'm running A1 sport wheels with 214x45 R16 tyres. No problems and the car feels really well planted on the road.

Holy thread revival folks.

:) I actually ended up buying Rich2508's A1 Sport wheels as my winter wheels, although these have 195x50x16 Cross Climate tyres on. Nowadays I usually run Nothelle Classics (BB) and got the ProjektZwo 18" on JRV with 215x35x18 tyres.
