SOLD: Fully loaded A2 1.4 petrol “The Keeper” OSS, Bose, cream heated leather, etc

    NOW SOLD!!

The time has come to pass on my fully loaded and desirably modded 85k A2 1.4 petrol aka “The Keeper” as my driving needs have drastically reduced. I’ve owned every model of A2 bar the 1.2 TDI and have been on this great forum for many years, all of which will give the next owner one of the finest A2s in the country.

I bought the car at 77k in 2015 and it was then subjected to a very extensive programme of servicing and upgrades carried out by A2 Cars in Milton Keynes, with receipts totalling nearly £4k (!!). It is now on 85k miles, has just been serviced with 12 months MOT.

    The specification includes:

1.4 petrol in SE specification - achieves 45-50 mpg on average
Atlantic Blue metallic with (hard touch) beige interior
    OpenSky Sunroof - fully working
Cream leather heated seats (fully working, with restored driver’s bolster), with Sport steering wheel and gearstick
    Climate Control
    Cruise control - £150 install
BOSE with double-DIN dash and built-in 6 CD changer
    Rear electric windows
Rear parking sensors (with hidden speaker)
Winter Pack - heated mirrors, etc
15” ‘Pepperpot’ alloys with 185/60 Goodyear Efficientgrip tyres (currently 6mm front and 7mm rears)

The following mods have also been performed:

    Personalised ‘A2 PUA’ numberplate - worth £250
    HID headlights with 5000K bulbs
Xcarlink bluetooth handsfree module with microphone and USB charger - worth £150
    Komfortblinker - worth £50
1.2 TDI aero mods - front winglets and underbody heat shield
H&R front anti-roll bar plus new drop links
    Black-wrapped roof arch
Re-spray of bonnet vent and mirrors in black
    Smoked side indicator repeaters
    LED sidelights
Chrome covered door handles - stick-on, so can be removed by next owner
Dashboard gong muting - i.e. will not scare you out of your seat anymore!

The cambelt, water pump, windshield, and battery has been replaced in my ownership, slatted grille and aero wiper installed, along with myriad small jobs (e.g. wheel alignment, coolant sensor replacement, gearbox oil change, starter motor replacement) that reflect a high standard of ownership.

    The car’s history reads:

    2000 - original sale (December)
    2002 - 11k service
    2003 - 22k service
    2004 - 32k service
    2005 - 38k service
    2006 - 47k service
    2007 - 49k service
    2009 - 54k service
    2010 - 56k service
    2012 - 63k service
2015 - 77k service (A2 Cars) inc. cambelt and water pump change, plus overhaul programme, OSS service, etc etc
    2017 - 84k service (B&F Autos, London)

Note: The EML light has currently come on (and was marked as an advisory on the MOT), but has not been identified as a problem by A2 Cars and has never affected performance or economy - it can be reset and be fine for many, many miles, or disappear after a new tank of fuel, and cleaning the throttle body and injectors has not yet fully cured the non-specific error code. I won’t be adjusting the price to reflect but you are welcome to perform your own diagnosis. I suspect that changing the brake servo vacuum pipe may lead to a longer term fix (given the posts on other VAG forums), but is certainly not essential.

An A2 TDI with this specification and low mileage would easily command £5k+, and with the significant amount of works and desirable upgrades performed, I do hope that £2,800 is a fair asking price for this rare and modernised A2.

The car is located in Ealing, and has just had a £60 valet so needs nothing further. The personalised plate worth £250 will be staying with the car.

    Hi Sailesh,

You are asking a very fair price for what is a lovely A2... a credit to you. Thankyou for offering your car to members first.. hopefully it will find a loving new home very quickly.

    Cheers
    Dave.

Thank you Dave, I only plan to advertise on the forum - it's always been good to me and I'd like the car to remain in fine company

    Cheers
