Auxiliary power feed by Rear View Mirror?

Hi Folks

I've just purchased one of these:-

Early days on reporting how good it is but so far.....good!

Much bigger than the original Audi mirror, in fact it looks like it came off a lorry but you soon get used to it.

I hate loads of tech suckered onto a windscreen and this seems like a good alternative.

The only thing I want to do is a permanent power fix and I'm looking for some assistance/suggestions with this. I was thinking that I could wire up a cigarette lighter socket behind the roof lining and then use a USB socket/lead. Get power from one of the interior lights or the Open Sky? I know nothing about power so may be talking nonsense!??? Help please ;-)

Hi Timmus wired my car cam in for me and I may be wrong but I think he used a feed from the OSS.

Ideally you want an ignition feed rather than a permanent live, so that it fires up automatically when you start the car?

That is how Tom (Timmus) wired mine and that was exactly what I wanted.
