Air Con not working

Today I used my Fsi for the first time this spring in sunny weather. I did not get the normal temperature drop from the Air Con and no improvement when I set the AC to lowest temp (LO) and the ECON is of. The fan is working normally.

I have run a VCDS scan without any error codes.

The two refrigerant pipes in the engine bay (aluminium tubes) was both with the engine on idle.

Will a not working compressor or a low gas (Refrigerant) generate an VCDS error log?

Is that a guide to meassuring the gas pressure, temperatures etc with VCDS?

Or is there any hidden menues in the Air Conditioning Control unit?

Audi single-zone Climatronic hidden menu procedure


  1. Turn key to II position and wait for the Audi Climatronic system to start.
  2. Press both air recirculation and windshield defrost buttons.
  3. On the display you should see 1C.
  4. Select channel using temperature buttons.
  5. Press air recirculation to read value of selected channel.
  6. Press one of the temperature buttons to go back to channel select.
  7. Turn key to 0 position to exit hidden menu.
