H7 bulb vs H7R bulb...

One of my low beam headlight bulbs has died... all shops say I need H7 bulb but I read on here we really need H7R bulb but only place I've seen them online they appear to be some sort of fancy aftermarket upgrade with cables and ballast thingies involved...

What's the deal with that?

I just need a headlight bulb ... argh...

Also, shouldn't the normal or "low" beam light be the "main" light and not the high beam one? It seems strange call the most used light not the main one... what's up with that?

H7 is the correct fitment. H7R is basically a H7 bulb but with a shield & is for a hid kit as you say with ballast's & wires and is a lot brighter than the H7 OEM bulb.
