Cupholders stuck out... won't stay closed

Morning and any help with this much appreciated. All the searches on here tell of cupholders stuck in, not out.

Cupholder is clean and not gummed with pop spills, there is still OEM yellow grease visible in the mechanism. Is slides fine, no working clicks or tight points but it just won't click and stay closed.

I would like to solve this as one day, something is going to catch it and break it.. any tips to try?

The plastic bit on the back of the cupholder has probably broken off, you'll have to take the cupholder out to inspect it.

They are cheap enough from someone like A2Steve and very easy to replace.

But if you can repair it, all the better.
