Just joined as I picked up my first A2 at the weekend :)

It was a bit of a surprise purchase, we had the idea to buy one on Friday after weeks of trying to figure out if I should replace my current car and if so what with, found a cheap, blue Colourstorm in Wales and was driving her home by Saturday lunchtime. Turns out she is exactly what I needed! I absolutely LOVE this little car.

She's the 1.4Tdi 75hp, 169k and a bit tatty with a few bits and pieces to do - climate fan has seized, need to fix/replace a few trim bits, CD player doesn't work, vacuum/boost leak causing limp mode under load on the M4 - but we're an Audi loving home (she is replacing a B5 A4 2.8 Quattro Avant and our other car is an A6 Allroad) so I'm confident we'll restore her to her former glory.

I haven't had a car I could fettle with since my Corrados a few years ago but found myself up early the day after buying her trawling the internet for wheels :) I fear this could be a slippery slope! :D

Well done. Great car. I was going to buy this one some months back but it fell through. I believe there was another member on the forum that owned it previously also. Looks lovely in the photos

Welcome aboard. A slippery slope indeed as most will tell you. The A2 is a car which will truly tug at your heart and you will invest in it because of this. You sound as though you already have the bug! :D

I look forward to seeing some pictures. Enjoy!

I've owned the car for a short period of time. I've had a LOT of A2's so my memory isn't great about that one but I think its got a half decent spec as well. Double DIN dash, rear electric windows. Really like the colour as well especially when the sun shines.

yup, sounds like the one - I've got no history past what the guy I bought it from had done (rear springs, full service, cambelt and wp and a wiring fault repair) but I have connections to an Audi specialist so I was happy to take a punt at that money and invest a little in it. Love the colour, I could have stayed local but the blue was worth the daytrip to go collect her :)

Yeah, the paint is pretty good, the body is straight and the interior just needs a clean up so I'm really happy with it for the money.

The mechanical bits don't worry me too much, I wasn't expecting perfect, as it does drive well. 169k is just run in after all :)

'Ey up Scarlett - Long time no see... Welcome aboard from a fellow "Ex-Corrado, A6 Allroad as an alternative" A2 lover.

If you've got double-din I might just have the upgrade you need for your CD Player, I'll hopefully find out later this week.

Glad to see you have taken the plunge. Welcome Scarett it's great that this car has already been with members of the club,
and now back in the club with a new member, enjoy the drive.
Regards Spud ;);)

So, it seems all the cool kids now drive A2's... ;)

Did have a fleeting thought about picking up a cheap 'Rado again but then I remembered the pain it caused me last time, and the hours spent broken down in the rain, and I came to my senses.

Verrrry interested in possible double din upgrades, pref with Bluetooth option, so keep me updated please!

Hi Scarlett,
Welcome to the A2 world, love the blue storms and be great to see it lined up at one of our social meets, shame you just missed out on two your way a few weeks back but there's plenty more,
Cheers Jeff

Will keep my eyes peeled for any local meets - always loved a pub meet when we had the Corrados - and hopefully get along to say hello! :)

Hi Scarlett,

Hello and welcome Scarlett to THE best car club on the internet. You have impeccable taste in cars and your A2 is a lovely colour too.
Hope you enjoy upgrading and modifying your colour storm to your own personal requirements just as much as we all have.
Hope to meet you at a social soon. May you have ahead of you many happy miles with a big smile on your face.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! :)

Had her 3 days and I'm slightly obsessed already! Looking forward to getting her up to scratch and maybe getting to a few meets over the rest of the year.

Trust me, the feelings only get stronger... ;) You've only got to look at how many have owned/own more than one, return to the fold after leaving A2 ownership (me included) and how many people invest in their cars for love not profit.

You've definitely bought the right car and are amongst good company.

That's not an offer to pass up on, Andrew is one of the most knowledgeable members of club.

I'm definitely an Audi Girl, I loved my Corrados but my Audis have always been just great cars. I'll be sad to see the V6 go, she's a really lovely example and just lovely to drive, but the A2 is already a firm favourite among them. Its the car I never knew I needed!

Thanks to you both :)

I need to get a look into the limp mode issue so I may well take to up on that Andrew. The dash is in bits currently awaiting a new fan unit, once the climate is fixed (I need air con!) then it's onto checking the engine out. She has 169k on the clock and no history so would be good to just get the basics checked to start with especially as I think there's a very, very slight misfire which I'm assuming us connected to the limp mode under load fault.
