Lucky A2 Tdi owners

The question I would have is as follows.

They are recalling them to adjust the software because they are polluting too much, but are they stating that this will not impact the performance of the car or the economy.

If it affects the performance in a negative way, then surely that will lead to owners revolting and suing for damages.
If it affects it in a positive way (by being more efficient, as in a remap?) then will that invalidate people's insurance?

And if it makes no difference at all, negative or positive, then why wasn't it set up that way in the first place.

As I see it they are in a lose, lose, lose situation (but I bet the owners won't gain)
