Hi all I have noticed that my OSS is not opining to the max. Only say the last 6/8 " is their any way I can tighten the wires, as I think that's the problem.
It opens fine and shuts fine, just the last bit. I have pushed it back the last bit myself and when I come to close the roof its fine. Any suggestion's would be most helpful. Regards Spud

you cant adjust the wires , possibly just needs a good service , clean all the old grase and grime from the channels and re grease them as any debris will hinder the operation and smoothness of the glass opening and closing

Cheer's Jigsaw I remember my last A2's roof that used to judder really bad, also when it came to lift the second piece if glass it was like it was stuck together. It always worked, but needed a good service.
Audi sell the special lubricant for the OSS, I don't what to use any other as it might make it worse.

The Audi lubricant is ruinously expensive - like £100 inc VAT for the paste and spray. Apparently it does more than one service though, so not all bad! Deutscheparts sold me some but couldn't discount it much as it was a special order.

...and some possibly conflicting advice from Worthing Audi, Paul Gilbert
"Dust and dirt gets into the seals which need cleaning out and you may have to do the following a couple of times while the seals are wearing in. All you need to do is to get a spray tin of silicone spray on to a clean cloth and wipe along the seals you can get at and just spray the ones you can't to wash the dirt out from the seals. The ones you have wiped it's worth spraying with the silicone to aid lubrication."

Thanks Andrew for the links, I shall give mine a service this weekend weather permitting, as it's been bucketing down all week so not had chance to give it the once over. Regards Spud
