Advice needed re sensor

I seen a really nice A2 and its got a fault saying the yaw rate sensor needs replacing.
Can anyone say what this part is for and can i get a second hand one?

It senses the cornering forces (G forces) and feeds that to the AVC "brain" so that it knows what to do about anti skid prevention (basically).

They can be expensive (I think) but not hugely.

With a safety item such as that it is best to get new if you can, but a good used one is fine if funds are tight.

Early model car have separate Yaw and Accel sensors and later ones, a combined unit - which are said to be more reliable. They are not unique to the A2 and the same parts are used on a few Audi models

Hi there - these are a common issue on early Volkswagen / Audi cars particularly year 2001 models regarding bad soldering of the contacts . I changed mine for a reconditioned one with a guarantee a few weeks ago (cost £70) and fitted it within the hour and now working great.
