Air Con Leak Sealer

Does Air Con Leak Sealer work, or is it just a waste of money ?

Had the A2 re gassed a few weeks ago, because Air Con had stopped working after 14 years without being serviced. Yes really. It worked great for all those years.

Blasted out freezing cold air at first then gradually tailed off. Took it back last Wednesday when they re gassed it FOC including the dye. Said it was inconclusive but there might be leaks around the Condenser. Take it away. Use it until it stops working then take it back and they would have a closer look.

Took it back 2 days later, on Friday but it was late afternoon, so too late to do anything.

If they can not identify the leak is it worth trying the Leak Sealer or not ?

If dye has been added, you should be able to find the leak. You don't need a UV light, a white LED light will work. The most likely place for a leak is the condenser. No experience of leak sealer but as A/C is all about heat transfer, how well will it work if you coat all the internal surfaces with something?
