recommendations for a2 repair and service work

Hi just looking for someone who specialises in A2 work as I need a couple of things looked at as well as a general look over. I'm based in Scotland but am prepared to travel to a degree as I've been let down a couple of times now by general mechanics who can't be bothered or want to charge a small fortune for simple work.

I've been able to do some stuff myself but really need a specialist to do some of the more fitgety / knowledge intensive work.

Thanks

I would recommend WOM in Stoke-on-Trent.

If WOM is just too far away then Star Performance gets a good name - http://www.starperformance.co.uk/

I've no first hand experience of their services but they are VAG specialists and can probably do most jobs on A2s

Cheers Spike

Thanks spike but I wouldn't go near Jim curley if someone paid me. Used to be a regular but his attitude stinks hence not been back in years. Thanks though :p

Mike simpson is in Uddingston. He had suggested to me that he'd be happy to help with servicing and repair work. Maybe worth asking as it's only a 75min drive. Although it'll be 90 with the new bridge just now

Haha yup ok good tip will look into this one many thanks. You got any contact details for Mike?

Don't start me on THAT bridge. I've spent so many hours around that already it's depressing. Grrrr!

I crossed it on the first day. by accident. I think you can search for peeps by name, no? I chatted to Mark by PM - username is mike Reilly. I'm just too skint to do anything non essential at the mo. Need four new tyres and a full service!

Yup did a search and even looked line by line on the members list and no sign of that ID.

Did you scare him away? :)

This ones probably a bit to far away as well in Carlisle. Harpers Cumbria. Audi VW Porsche Seat Skoda Independant Specialist with VAG Trained Mechanics using Genuine VAG Parts.

Roger Irrelevant but Can't wait to drive across the New Bridge in a few weeks time. One of my favourite places to visit. Parked at North Quensferry last year just to take Mrs across The Forth Rail Bridge to Dalmeny and back. £3.20 Return Fare !

Thanks.. Carlisle not too bad only a couple of hours in the car really and for the right place I wouldn't mind.

To mods is it worth compiling a list of reputable service and repair experts/ garages that come recommended by a2oc members?

I'm an idiot. I got it really wrong then a bit wrong. if it helps though, Mike's a consultant doctor type so it was accidentally calling you a professional's name.

Keep the suggestions coming - even if not suitable for me it might benefit others elsewhere in the country.
