Been online all day, can't seem to decide where is cheap for perishables and replacement parts. I gather i started at the right place as most high street prices are outrageous?
Anyone heard of www.mister-auto.co.uk ? any feed back on that or any other recommendations please, my eyes are square! Tia.x

I've found;
www.eurocarparts.co.uk with the 35% off offers and such.
www.carparts4less.co.uk a sister site?
www.halfords.co.uk typical high st costs.
www.autosessive.com cheap.
www.gsfcarparts.com are these .coms even local or whats the deal?
www.mister-auto.co.uk seems french, but i am sticking to them ATM, cheap and do deals on bosch stuff which is german right?

Ebay and Amazon have loads of items, used and new, but knowing compatible part numbers is a must! is there anything i can reference to know aua 1.4 petrols requirements?

I use German Swedish and French or GSF. I bought a full service kit for my Tdi90 for less then £50.
They always email me weekend offers the latest discount code is WKD56 56% off all parts and consumables and delivery is free too.
Give them a try pop your reg number in and choose parts from the drop down menus that appear.
Hope this helps your eyes return to normal shape.
Regards,
Drew.

I shop around TPS for OEM, Euro ,GSF, I have also used Mister Auto and have found them to be very competitive and with a much bigger selection of consumable products than others , they also ship the products from other locations outside the UK if not available in UK stock, they appear to be a large concern and very professional. my last puchase was 3x 03w30 Edge oil at £28 for 5ltr shipped fron France for FREE, they have their own Auto Consumable product range called Bolk .

Happy Hunting.

You've got to shop around. I don't think any of them are cheaper than the others.
I have recently favoured halfords though, not only will they price match eurocarparts but they have actually been cheaper on some items even with the ecp discount codes, a recent example being an off brand tdi fuel filter which is something like a £1 cheaper. Aswell as this there opening times are longer and atleast for me they are closer.

thank you all, very kind....
call me stupid, but what's the full form of TPS? and thank's i shall look up opie oils too?
last help regards a fuel filter if anybody is on... shall post now in relevant thread!

That's very interesting - I have ever bought more than a fuse from Halfords because of the outrageous mark-ups, like £270 for a Saab 900 starter motor that cost £80 from Euro, or the £150 out of stock VW ignition coil that cost £38 from Euro.

Otherwise, all of the above plus:

Partsgateway.com - a useful site where you specify your parts and people tender for them.

Prestige Auto Services (I think they trade on eBay as A8parts - nice people who seem to do a mixture of breaking Audis (including A2s) and selling new parts that they buy as job lots.

Deutscheparts, who I like more and more. They can't compete on main dealer prices for special order stuff but are very competitive on things like ignition coils, spark plugs etc. Also lovely to deal with.

Don't forget also that there are a few members on here who break end of life vehicles and can supply second hand bits and pieces.

Trade Part Specialist - They supply genuine VAG group parts, usually on the more expensive side but can sometimes surprise! Some TPS dealers will be funny serving retail customers, they are supposed to be trade suppliers only.

Couple of parts places I've used lately just to add for everyone's reference;

https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/
...I've found prices here good and easy to select between all the brands you want for each part, discounts are regularly offered much like ECP - currently 17% off if buying in the next 2 days

http://www.vwspares.co.uk/
... aka AVS Car Parts, prices are okay but these guys are really knowledgeable if you want to talk to someone, a good place for genuine parts and genuine advice without ringing the dealerships

And don't forget our old friend Amazon! -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/
... I know, not the first place you think of for your car bits but 2 weeks ago I bought ATE ceramic pads off there for £9.99 delivered!!! (now back up to £44.20!) - a third of the price of everywhere else online!

I'd agree with the sentiments above definitely, just shop around if you've got the time, and plan ahead if you know you're going to be doing complete system overhauls so you can accumulate all your bits at discounted prices.

The 10%-17% discount websites in whatever rendition they come in; I believe are ran by the same vendors. I have had the following bad experience with one of them but had excellent service from another which I believe could be down to the local management of the said branch. They all have the same pattern of business, i.e., they sell OEM parts at competitive prices BUT they also supply their OWN "very good" and "super" brand which is better than OEM. Here is my story;

I wanted a Hella heater matrix for an astra. Hella is OEM as sold by GM and the price for a new one off the said vendor was 34 pounds (bargain). Got the heater matrix along with some other stuff including a tie rod end. I paid for the stuff and received a confirmation email with a list. AFTER the confirmation and on the next day I received another email with an invoice. Fair enough. Upon checking the parts on the invoice the tie rod end I had ordered was replaced, WITHOUT asking me with one of their own "super" brand which by the way they gave me at no extra charge because it was "more expensive" than the one I'd ordered. I asked them why this had happenned and they said it is usual practice. In any case being only a tie rod end which was cheap anyway I dod not bother since I got all the rest of the stuff pretty cheap.

I then ahd a look online for situations like these and have found in other fora that they all do the same thing. You order Mayle for example and you get Stark or Bolk or whatever without knowing. And when you ask them why they say it is because they ran out and they gave you better ones. After this incident I only get parts for which there are no replacements or ask on the chat beforehand if they have in stock along with a transcript of the chat. They do have a prompt and helpful customer service though.

Mister-auto promotes cheaper Bosch.
Buycarparts seems to promote cheaper Blistein stuff.
Opieoils mostly sell oils and few little items...

apart from the two ebay mentions, Deutscheparts and Prestigeautoservices (i will search seperately for amazon and ebay),
Vwspares (avs) and tps are a pig to search.... typed in audi supplied codes nothing comes up? ie 6r0615301c.

parts gateway is mostly breakers, so used goods? and you have to wait for a "call back/ quote".

using the most expensive part i need as a common item, brake discs, i found carparts4less has the lowest price range.
buycarparts, onlinecarparts, have extensive ranges.
the rest as mentioned, use discount offers to lure you in, and have smaller ranges, mostly pushing one specific brand at a slight discount.

autosessive do a price match promise?

mister auto is quiet good with prices.

i started this thread so tell me to shut up now :) but i would love someone to spend an afternoon doing a full service (filters and stuff) shopping list and compare prices across popular range? would be helpful :)
