Steve, I sourced new cv joints from here:

    http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/audi-...cv-joint/JR151

Worked well and perhaps easier for your needs? Done 40k miles without issue.

I have had 4 N/S GSF and eurocarparts premium versions all have started knocking within 20k miles can't be bothered with getting another one

    I can't believe that's only 13.00 from J and R

Of course Audi want silly amounts of money

Wow that is not good news, shame that they are not very durable! To be honest I only got these as they were cheap enough and I always seem to have mixed results when replacing CV boots and getting old joint off. Never really have much success with the cone methods. So far so good / lucky.

Hope a drive shaft turns up soon

Hi Steve, I have one - not sure which side until I’ve checked but is visually in good condition. I’ll get a pic for you

The JR joints from numerous ebay sellers are both cheap and excellent quality, I fitted some to a various VAG cars over the last 4+ years and not had a single problem with any of them, one set on a golf are near to the 100K miles on the JR joints
last set I got for my own TDI where 58 for the set of 4 and that included new boots, clips, C clips etc and free delivery

best bargain I have had since the front struts from FK (6.35euro each)

    Cheers,
