TDi90 Rear hub/bearing Question - part no. etc

Can someone help clarify this so I can get parts ordered for work being done later in the week...

I'm having the rear disc brakes of my TDi90 completely overhauled and that includes having the hubs off to fit rear splash plates, I'm considering fitting new hub/bearings at this point as it makes sense to do so if they're coming off anyway.

Are the rear bearing/hub kits the same for both drum brake and disc brake cars? if I put the car details in online for both my cars (75 and 90) it brings back the same parts but just need to make sure.

If I decide to have the rear hubs and bearings refitted instead of replaced do I need to have hub nut replaced? - anyone got a part number for just the hub nut... to search for sensibly priced ones.

I have called the dealership but prices are £130 each bearing kit or £26 for just the two hub nuts on their own - hoping to pay a little less in any case!

Cheers, Kennedy.

For the nut, N 90654502, same for all A2's it would appear. It has to be replaced because it is a 'Nyloc', single use only.

Thanks RAB, cheers for the link... even so, it seems buying just the hub nut is a little on the expensive side wherever I shop. At least now I know they should all fit that opens up lots of easy buying options.

I just bought two near rear wheel bearing kits and they were listed as suitabke for rear discs or drums.

I have rear discs and and they fitted perfectly well so they must be the same part.

Cheers Steve...

I've been looking at the Febi (24224) or SKF (VKBA 3567) ones here and here;

...only the SKF ones say 'with integrated ABS sensor' but can I assume that all rear hub kits of any decent quality will have this - including the Febi as above? ie all A2's/polos etc would have the same ABS setup?
... with 20% off today the prices are about £35 each so seems reasonable.

Yes, that is a pretty safe assumtion

i have bought several rear wheel bearings from various suppliers and all had the correct ABS rings as standard.

Thanks Steve. I was just being cautious as the car is booked in for work later in the week so I have to get the right bits. Looks like I've got it sussed out now.

I noticed actually that the SKF 'VKBA 3576' kit is referenced in the ebay link you posted above too, so again looks like I've got the right bits in my basket so all good.

Kennedy.
