Yes, I would say it is as it's a Varta and has an Audi part number on it.

How old is the A2 ?

The battery on my one was original as well a 2001 model !

Looks Original to me.
I was amazed how long my one lasted,replaced with another Varta last year.

'How old' - If it's an Audi original, often there is a date code stamped on the face of one of the battery terminals
