Has anyone successfully fitted and used this USB adapter to play MP3s from a memory stick?

I actually looked at this one just this morning, I was drawn to this by the german A2 website, there a lot of people have installed it and are very happy with it,

Please see the german thread below, ignore the german words, but look at the installed pictures

The germans say that it works like a dream and the sound is great

you install on your memory stick 6 directories (this reflects 6 cd's) the device simulates to be a cd changer. within each directory you can store up to 99 songs.

so the number of songs is limited to 6 times 99

If you have any more questions, i can always ask the germans (we can order this one directly from a UK supplier (see also ebay) the germans ordered it directly from china, were they had to indicate which audi radio they had, to ensure it was working perfectly, it is strange that with this supplier you do not have to do it

I do not know if you still have to unlock the cd changer facility on your radio, cause i know that if you install a cd changer you have to unlock your radio to make it work

You don't have to unlock anything. It normally works, and if not, then mostly or allways the black box is broken or the extra mass-cable is not connected :)
Aber du verstehst mich ja auch euf deutsch :D

Hi Havank,

Many thanks for the advise and the links to the German site. Really useful. I shall get one but probably from one of the UK sites rather than direct from China with the US$30 p&p.

bought Connects2 Audi USB Head Unit Interface CTAADUSB003 from ebay and it works a treat make folders cd01 cd02 cd03 on memory card and drag and drop mp3 files its so easy

Its so easy they give you an instruction manual with pictures e.g. (1) drop your pants (2)put the toilet seat down (3)away you go. lolz trust me it only took me 10 or so minutes to fit! I’ll put up pictures soon.
