A2 TDI (90) Shake on Cold Start

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody has has a similar problem.

The A2 (90) TDI when started from cold wobbles like a jelly! The whole car effectively moves about. When the clutch is pressed in, it stops the shake

When the car has been driven and warmed up, it no longer does it when stood idling.

I have a feeling it might be the dual-mass flywheel. At 28k it really shouldn't be the case, but I have read similar on this forum. No warranty on the car, but does Audi know of this fault?

Regards...

Mine seems hard to start, but after 95k miles it could needs new glow plugs,It never fails to start it shakes a bit when its strting though.

Hi,

The shake goes (even when cold) if the clutch is pressed in. When reading about the dual mass flywheel on the forums it seems to add up that this is a part at fault.

The car has full main dealer history (last service only 2k miles previous), the shake is very apparent aswell. Surely this isn't acceptable at 28k miles (based on the useable life of the part?)

Regards,

Its been diagnosed as the flywheel, with Audi wanting £1200!

Does anybody know who manufactures the Audi genuine unit?
Should I go for replacement with a different flywheel perhaps?

Your advice appreicated.
