Can anyone tell me the sizes of the factory speakers in a 52 plate A2 TDi SE? Might replace them with after market ones but don't want to start creating door builds.

Oh, Oh! Often asked questin. It is 16cm (16.5cm) (6,25 inch).

But: There are no speakers wich will fit. You need an adapter. See:

I just managed to finally hook up my trusty old Seas tweeters. I also added a 0,22mH coil to the original midrange speakers and I think it sounds pretty sweet now. I wouldn't bother changing them, too much work. Original tweeters suck, though, and they're in the wrong place. Too low and close.

Bose retrofit? Retain factory OE look, but upgrade the amp and install the factory Bose sub?

I fitted a set of fusion woofers into the front and have yet to do the rear and my tweeters.

But like it has been said you cant buy adaptors so i just cut the old speakers out of there surrounds and popped the new ones in, so kind of creating my own adaptor.

They sound dam good and are not that expensive.

How deep are your replacement speakers?

I have a pair of speakers that are 13cm across with tabs for screws sticking out 15.5cm so basically a 12cm hole needed but a 13cm hole could work...

Speakers are 5cm deep from mounting face to rear of magnet
