any black a2's with a8's?

Those A8 Alloys look good

but why the coilovers, isn't going to fit with the normal set-up

ps any other change to the set-up (lowered)??

you'r confusing me Schnelletrecker

This is the deal

I will not lower my car (just the new Shocks - Koni FSD)

Will those 18" a8 type alloys fit out of the box (and what kind of rubber should i fit)

Simple question from simple people- to be answered by smart people :D

Well, the above shown black A2s only have been upgraded with coilovers to achieve lowest possible (individual) appearance. It is difficult to get any A2 lower than 40 to 50 mm using 8x18 wheels. Better would be 7x18ET35 rims to reduce the effort for modifying the wheels arches (and to avoid using additional bump stops).

If combining the standard (non sport) Audi springs with any 5x100 pattern 8x18ET35 alloys, the following tyre sizes are possible without needing any modifications of the wheel arches:

205/35R18
215/35R18
225/35R18

So Havank, in your case in fact it is unrelevant what type (FSD or others) of damper are used because the springs do determine the lowering rate only.

Here can be found supplementary info addressing e.g. minimum required spacer thickness’needed for 8x18 wheel clearance:

P.S. Especially when going the 18“ route, it is advisable to use as light wheels as possible to keep the unsprung mass low. Otherwise efficiency and dynamics derived from a high quality (and expensive) suspension set-up would suffer too much (danger of inharmonic ride quality). Good 8x18 rim weights range from 8 to 10 kg. If the total weight per 18“ wheel does not exceed 20 kg, this is a good value.

Schnelletrecker,
Do you know if 8x18" wheels with an ET33 and 215/35/18 rubber would fit straight on with no arch mods?

Thanks.

Because 8x18ET35 does most probably need up to 8mm thick rim spacers per wheel for inner rim horn and/or inner tyre shoulder clearance, ET33 thus would be beneficial. By adjusting the final offset to about 30 to 28, 205/35, 215/35 or 225/35 tyres will fit nicely without “hurting” the non-modded arches (if no lowering is intended).
