Help !Water in Boot

Hi guys just purchased an Audi A2 however just noticed today that the boot, well the lower compartment with the battery and goo etc is holding a bit of water, the lid that sits on top is very damp, also one of the rear seats driver side is slightly damp. Firstly any ideas what this problem might be. Secondly how much do you think it will cost to repair and thirdly what would be your first port of call to get it fixed (Audi main dealer ?)

Im assuming its a problem with one of the seals somewhere but im no expert when it comes to cars unfortunately.

Very disapointed as I thought I carried out a very thorough check of the vehicle before buying it. Im panicking a bit as I dont really have much money at my disposal right now to get this fixed. Will Probably mean whacking this onto a credit card  Best not to leave it tool long as we do get a fair amount of rain in Wales !

Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.

Im living in the Cardiff are so if anyone could recommend a garage/specialist in this type of work that would be brill.

Cheers

Dom

This is a fairly common occurrence for the A2 and is related to a flap/seal under the rear light clusters, which perishes.

It is a straightforward fix, but getting to the area requires the removal of both back wheels, arch liners and the bumper!

The biggest part of any work done by Audi is labour and they currently charge about £90 per hour (some places are over £100!!).

You can go to them or an independant or even someone like myself, who knows the A2 inside out.

Mike

Thanks mike

Sorry to be a pest .....how long does this usually take them to do ? Just looking for a rough time frame, an couple of hours ? a week ?

Im in Cardiff any idea how I could find a reliable independant who could carry this procedure out ?

Cheers

Even if you tell them exactlywhat needs doing, you can bank on a bill of 2 hours plus and then parts on top - don't expect change from £250!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks again Mike

Think I have found an independent Repair specialist in Cardiff called NG Motors think ill call them tomorrow. Hopefully it wont rain tonight !:)

Is there a how-to guide for this job as I think I might need to do this soon - noticed for the first time some dampness in my battery/sub area yesterday...
