Also fitted the leather sport gear knob and steering wheel. I refurbed the steering wheel first and it's just waiting for some moisturiser in a few days. Came out really really well.
Also then adjusted the boot! Hurray what a simple joy, shuts under its own steam, perfect.
Feeling like the car has turned the corner and is motoring away now, very satisfying.
On my commute I ponder the benefits of buying £2.5 to 3.5k A2 over what I've done here. At first I always think that's the way to do it, then I view some cars and realise they all need work regardless, a clutch, a turbo, a fuel pump, AC doesn't work, headlining sagging, seats a mess etc etc. So I figure as I have limited but enough skills I may as well buy cheap as I can with a solid enough body and do the mechanicals and learn some things
This way it has rewarded me with a similar outlay in price, but a rewarding journey of constant improvement, meeting friends on the way and learning new skills. Of course I never budgeted for the head being porous but that's the risk, soke you win...
I now have a deep connection with this car!
