5 seat rear bench removal and storage

Hi, I'm new to 5 seater benchs!

My car has a bench I took it out and it came out OK, now it's locked shut. I bought a replacement bench and that's not locked shut.
Which is normal?

I want to show a buyer the rear seat but when its off the car. How do I open it up?

Find a socket that fits over the location pins on the bottom face. Place the socket over a pin and hit with a hammer. It should reset the pin mechanism. Repeat both sides. It should then unfold.

I would expect that when folded the seat is locked in that position so it can be removed from the car. Would not expect the back to unlock until the base was resecured into the car. If however is does then the mechanism may be damaged. Do both seats work correctly in the car?

Both seats appear to be fine, these leather were locked in place ok and removed ok. The cloth ones I have were flopping apart but fitted ok with clicks with some weight on them and are locked in place.

The outer black ones. The inner black ones are just buffers.
The outer black ones are the same as on the 4 seater seat bases.

Thanks all done, in fact it fell apart as I was holding the handle and carrying it out into my garage! All good

How ridiculously heavy are those bench seats? They must weight 30kg..

It makes me laugh that they didn't fit bonnet hinges to save weight, and then put in the heaviest seat ever fitted to a car

Yeah it's a slight awkward lift isn't it!!

I believe 35kg, but so awkward to remove and refit alone, though my age is against me these days!

I've unlocked my bench when removed to clean them, push the metal pins back when pulling the handles

I will have to watch what I say, I think I’ve put a hex on my rear bench, it won’t budge at all today. Pesky thing..
