Project DIY Pine Green

Now to some interesting stuff got to the bottom of the issue with the car locking itself.

I have previously changed the CCCU which stopped the lock cycling continually and draining the battery this was masking this issue where none of the features below worked and as soon as I sat in the car the drivers door would lock itself which could only be avoided if I opened the front passenger door or tailgate. So I took off the door card and inner panel could see the lock but could not be easily accessed. So I took off the glass and frame by removing the rubber seal around the frame and removed 4 bolts, remarkably easy to do.

1 way to clean the bottom of the glass, lol

I looked at the common issue microswitches on the door lock plugged back into the door/window control module tested the microswitch nothing happened.
So it was time to take the lock apart, really could not see anything wrong. Upon close inspection using the zoom on my phone could see some dry/broken solder joints, you cannot see it unless you zoom in close.

gave them a clean and resolder and...............

I now have fully functioning lights left on buzzer, petrol cap button, door open indication on half DIS and mileage/clock display when door is open!
amazing how such a small break in solder caused so much annoyance.

any comments welcome

Be interesting to know how easy it was to refit the frame into the door,.does it align well?

I did wonder why there was slack on the door rubber in first fit. So lifted up the frame and pulled slightly towards the interior. Also I noticed before I started this fix, the frame was loose found one bolt was not even finger tight.
