Going to need a new airbag - does the Alcantara wheel have a particular trim colour bag that it normally goes with - can you even get different trim colours of bag?

Simon.

Hi Simon,

Just from looking at the photo, it would seem the steering wheel you've bought uses the usual 3-spoke airbag. It is available in a few colours, though I'd suggest black would be the most suitable. Your alternatives are various shades of beige, cream and pale grey.

I notice that the airbag/horn wiring loom is not suitable for the A2's slip ring, so this will need to be changed.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks Tom - I'll look out for a suitable airbag - anybody got a three spoke black one or dark grey they want to sell?

On the loom front does it just need a different one buying or is it more involved and are you still planing on visiting in a week or so?

I most certainly am still planning on seeing you on Tuesday 5th July. :)

I may have a suitable pre-made wiring loom in stock. If not, I definitely have the right connectors to adapt the existing loom, so we ought to be able to solve that issue. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare airbag for that design of steering wheel.

Cheers,

Tom

That looks great Simon, where did you get it?

Hi Steve,

It was on ebay and is located in Germany - described as not new but condition good as new so hopeful it's pristine.

You wouldn't have a 3 spoke bag laying about I suppose?

Simon.

I've got 3 4-spoke ones but no 3-spoke sorry. Was it advertised as a TT wheel?

Edit - tell a lie, I've got a beige one there but it would look pants :)

Today, I picked my car up after having some panels painted. The rear bumper, and both front doors have all been resprayed. I'll post some photographs on my 'Members Cars' thread when it's clean again - sadly its first outing post paint was in the rain. :)

Regards,

Matt.

... I was told I have to take my own car to work tomorrow. Ah well, at least it should wash most of the insects off that hit it on Wednesday night on the way home from the airport. Tuesday it's back to the airport until Friday.

This weekend I spotted the twin to my red Colour Storm.... Unfortunately I did not drive my Colour Storm, if I had, I would have stopped to take a picture of them together.

Discovered that I have a Pippi Longstocking car! That is kind of special to me since I this summer work at the World of Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby. I'm an actor/singer/dancer and I play the part of Captain Efraim Longstocking, Pippis father.

Yesterday, I had the nearside rear door top third resprayed to remove what looked like bird poo lacquer burn in addition to a faint scratch along its length which polish wouldn't remove.

The OCD in me slept much better last night and the colour match and finish is a top job.
