Today I.....

Looking good. I bet that was satisfying! Next thing, the number plate.... ? You'll be amazed how a fresh, brand new number plate lifts up the whole car
I Agree the number plate lets him down

But before I order any I don’t know what sort to get 3d plate maybe? :)

Replaced the black sirocco replica's with my refurbed sports.

Also started to remove the Votex kit.
The side sills seem more involved than the front and rears sills.

I’ve gone for pressed aluminium. I like aluminium. With a euro symbol for a bit of a continental look. Very happy with the quality. But can’t remember who I got from. I’ll try and find the receipt.

I used some spare undertray fixings too to keep it all Audi.

Today.... I changed the thermostat and sender (jobs I don’t want to do again!) on the £225 and took it for a drive to check the temp as sat on idle for 10m or so did nothing to move the gauge.

Any way a perfect 90 deg and as its a nice sunny day i took a couple of photos.

No need to find the receipt, the supplier's details are displayed along the bottom of the plate.
Sorry, but I'm not at all keen on those fastening bolts, so easily avoided with a plastic mounting kit (such as the A2OC one)

A million miles away from the car that I sold you for £225 with a sorry looking crunch on one side. I think you've got quite attached to that one. Does your island green one get any use anymore?

I do like it Steve, not sure how long I will be keeping though!

Island green still in use, actually in the garage having all new rear brakes. I couldn’t be bothered with doing drums as I’ve had bad experiences in the past!

I agree it could be neater with that, but it’s my daily knockabout car so I am going for practicality with it. I pass too many number plates on the floor with double sided tape. I’ll look into the plastic surround for my project which will be a bit more weekendy.

Thanks for the tip. Tony.

The plastic surrounds can (and should) be bolted to the car. They are then quite as reliable as any other fixing.

Today I .....

Replaced the very rusted front discs and partly worn pads , checking the past mots , those look like they have been on the car for 70k miles , the pads was nearly new ....
I was trying to put this off works , and carry out the 312mm brake upgrade over the summer , but a upcoming , and well overdue hoilday , and an expected 5k Usage , with a Mot the week after means needs must ...

Also fitted Paul’s @depronman door check strap , and carryied out a full oil change , and minor service , cleaning is going to have to wait , BASIL , will travel over 1200 miles this week..... will give him a mini valet next weekend

This also marks 10k Miles on the new engine , and MYP gearbox following the massive overhaul undertaken by WOM late last year

Looking forward to a week of extend driving on motorways of northern England
Regards Mark
